Many times, patients suffering a cardiac arrest or hemorrhagic shock can be stabilized by concentrating blood at the core organs. To offer a more efficient alternative to conventional tourniquets, the HemaShock consist of a pressure stocking attached to and wrapped around an elastic silicon ring. The stocking can be put on quickly simply by rolling it up the arm or leg, where it applies a steady pressure to safely reduce blood flow.
