The HomeBox was designed to fit inside a shipping a container, which allows it to be easily transported while still retaining its more home-like qualities.
While there have been many homes made out of shipping containers, the HomeBox differs in that it is made of wood and fits inside the container. It is positioned upright upon delivery, with its base measuring 9.5 feet by 7.9 feet and featuring three levels of equal height. The smaller footprint and tower-like orientation means the HomeBox can fit into gaps that cannot accommodate many of today’s compact homes while still providing a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a top-level, light-filled living space.
The HomeBox was designed by the German architectural studio Slawik, and will soon be available for purchase.
