Hybrid Microneedle Patch Promises Better Performance

Hybrid Microneedle Patch Promises Better Performance
Dec-15-16
A new microneedle patch made up of both hard and soft materials aims to be both more effective and more comfortable.

Created by a team from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, the microneedle patch is made up of stainless steel needles that have been embedded in a soft, polymer base. This combination of hard and soft materials results in a patch that is comfortable to wear, while the rigid needle array ensures the skin is penetrated properly for efficient drug delivery.
