Hydra-Light PL-500 Runs on Salt Water

Hydra-Light PL-500 Runs on Salt Water
Nov-04-16
The Hydra-Light PL-500 lantern and USB device charger is powered by salt water, eliminating the need for batteries.

The PL-500 is powered by a removable EnergyCell made up of the company’s PowerRod and a carbon-based membrane. Adding salt water to the system will trigger a reaction, causing the PowerRod to oxidize and create an electric current. The PowerRod will slowly shrink over time as it is consumed, offering about 250 hours of power before needing to be replaced.
