Hydration Tracking Headphones

Hydration Tracking Headphones
May-11-17
The health-tracking headphones from Kyocera will monitor hydration as well as play music.

The headphones feature an optical sensor developed by Kyocera able to measure blood flow in hypodermal tissue—in this case, in the ear. The sensor can detect nerve and blood pressure, allowing it to monitor for signs of dehydration. Though still in the prototype stage, the team is optimistic for commercialization, and believes the sensor could also be used to measure tension and track sleep.
