HYDRO_BOT Ski Jackets Wick Moisture with Gold

Feb-04-18 The innovative HYDRO_BOT ski jackets use gold and electricity to keep the wearer warm and dry.

The HYDRO_BOT jackets, developed after a decade of research and testing, are equipped with a lining made up of polymer panels coated with a thin layer of gold. A weak electrical current applied to the panels creates an ‘active membrane' that will attract salt ions, pulling sweat through to the other side to keep the wearer’s skin dry. The system is powered by a small battery that can be switched off or on manually.

The HYDRO_BOT jackets will be offered commercially by the Swiss company Osmotex.
