Hydrogel Scavenges Nitric Oxide to Treat Arthritis

Hydrogel Scavenges Nitric Oxide to Treat Arthritis
Jun-06-19
An injectable hydrogel that scavenges nitric oxide could offer a new treatment for rheumatoid arthritis.

Developed by the team from Pohand University, the new NO-scavenging nanogel differs from earlier examples in that it will collect the nitric oxide rather than suppressing its production. This difference helps to reduce side effects and also makes the gel attractive for use in the treatment of other NO-mediated inflammatory diseases.
