To help overcome this obstacle, the ID-Cap system is made up of an electronic capsule holding the medication, and a wearable Reader. When the ID-Cap is ingested and dissolves in the stomach, it sends a radio signal to the Reader, which is then transmitted to a paired device via Bluetooth. The capsule is powered by the patient’s stomach fluids, and the information can be sent to the attending physician for review.
