Insecticide Panel Kills Mosquitos

Insecticide Panel Kills Mosquitos
Dec-03-19
The simple and effective Barrier Bednet mosquito net could help stop the spread of malaria and other diseases.

The net design is based on the team’s research into mosquito flying patterns, which showed the insects will cluster near the top of the net. With that in mind, the researchers developed the Barrier Bednet—a rectangular panel treated with insecticide and hung in the mosquitoes’ flight path. In field tests, the insecticide panel proved very effective at killing malaria-spreading mosquitoes, while also distancing the chemicals from the sleeping human.
