iRock Chair Keeps You Rocking

Oct-31-12 The traditional rocking chair has moved into the future with the iRock Rocking Chair, which lets you power your iOS device while rocking back and forth.

Created by Micasa Lab of Zurich, the iRock is handmade from Swedish oak and features integrated speakers in the backrest and an iPad dock mounted on the arm. Kinetic energy is harnessed by the generator on the back of one of the rockers and stored in the on board battery, where it powers both the iOS device and the speakers, According to the developers, one hour of rocking will recharge an iPad to 35 percent.

The iRock is slated for release in 2013.
