Jetson Laser Knows You by Heart

Jul-04-19 The Jetson laser identifies individuals at a distance by their heartbeat with a 95 percent accuracy rate.

Developed for the Pentagon at the request of US Special Forces, the Jetson laser technology relies on the fact that every person’s cardiac signature is different. The laser is able to detect the slight surface movement caused by a person’s heartbeat using laser vibrometry, even through a jacket (though not a heavy winter coat). The system can work at distances up to 219 yards away, with results delivered in about half a minute.
