KardiaBand Adds Continuous ECG Tracking

Dec-05-17 The KardiaBand from AliveCor adds ECG tracking to the Apple Watch.

Recently receiving FDA clearance, the KardiaBand is equipped with a single-lead ECG device able to detect atrial fibrillation. The band can record up to 30 seconds of an ECG reading, alerting the user if an arrhythmia is identified so they can share the data with their physician.

According to Dr. Ronald P. Karlsberg of UCLA’s medical school, KardiaBand offers a significant change in cardiac care: “With an EKG device on the wrist, AFib can be detected wherever the patient is, 24 hours a day.”
