Kinect Desk Will Stand Up for You

Kinect Desk Will Stand Up for You
Sep-30-13
The touchscreen-enabled Kinect Desk by Stir will help keep desk workers healthy by reminding them to sit down—or stand up—according to their calories burned or wellness goals.

The motor-operated Kinect desk records the user’s individual standing and sitting patterns, translating them into calories burned, and its built-in thermal sensors automatically recognize when the user begins working at the desk. Standing and sitting height preferences can be preset into the desk, which will respond by raising or lowering when double-tapped on its surface. Other features include the option to set ‘standing goals’ or allowing the desk to automatically shift one inch higher or lower, encouraging the user to subtly change position.

The stir is really cool, but REALLY expensive! I've been standing at work for about a year and half and love it! I use the stand steady which costs about $140 (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C344VMY), which is much less than the $4K stir.
