Lattice Material Reduces Road Noise

Lattice Material Reduces Road Noise
Jan-10-20
An innovative, lightweight metamaterial developed by Nissan could reduce interior vehicle noise without adding weight.

The new metamaterial is made up of a lattice structure covered by a thin plastic film, somewhat like the structure of bubble wrap. According to the team, the material can reflect wide-frequency band noise, which would include road and engine noise, offering a quieter ride without adding weight or requiring additional power.
