LifeStraw Makes Dirty Water Drinkable
Apr-10-20
LifeStraw uses high-tech to filter contaminants such as parasites, bacteria, viruses, and lead, to make dirty water drinkable.

The portable straw was developed by Vestergaard who's work with the Carter Center lead to the goal of eradicating a parasitic infection caused when someone drinks water containing water fleas infected with guinea worm larvae. They have already decreased infections from 3.5 million down to 53 in 2019 and if completely successful, Guinea worm disease will be the first to be eradicated from the planet without the use of a vaccine.

They have donated more than 38 million LifeStraws to the Carter Center.
