Light-Based Speed Breeding Grows Crops Faster

Light-Based Speed Breeding Grows Crops Faster
Jan-03-18
A light-based “speed breeding” technology created by NASA is being applied in greenhouse crops on Earth.

Built upon NASA’s research in growing food during space missions, the system relies on continuous LEDs that emit light in the far-red spectrum. By growing the crops in specially modified glasshouses, the team was able to produce six generations of wheat, chickpea, and barley as compared to a maximum of three generations in a standard glasshouse.

An unusual aspect of growing in controlled areas to increase growth is the opposite of trained thought. DONT WATER YOUR PLANTS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY.
If you water your plants subterranean (Under the soi)l at this time, stress will be removed and a quickening spurt of growth takes place.
Worked on limp lettuce plants.
