Scientists have discovered a novel method for extracting biowaste from the incredibly stinky durian or jackfruit and using it to create ultra-quick electric chargers.
The method involves turning the guts of the fruit into supercapacitors capable of storing huge amounts of energy while maintaining consistent cycling abilities.
Pricey supercapacitors are usually constructed with two metal foils that are coated with an electrode material like activated carbon, but by using organic waste researchers hope to be able to bring prices down while at the same time reducing environmental pollution.
