LineRanger Bot Inspects Live Wires

Mar-05-18 The LineRanger invention from Hydro-Québec inspects high-voltage lines, checking for damage so humans don’t have to.

The first of its kind, the LineRanger attaches to the power line via a unique system that allows it to “hop” over obstacles as it travels about twelves miles of live wires a day. The LineRanger will make a video recording of any damage it finds, transmitting the data back to the crew so repairs can be made.
