The Linka smart bike lock can be controlled by a smartphone, locking and unlocking automatically to ensure you never forget to lock up your bike.
The Linka was developed to prevent ride-offs, which is when a bike is stolen by being subtly ridden away. Instead of securing the bike to an external object, the Linka sits on the frame and communicates with a paired smartphone to automatically lock the wheel, preventing the bike from being ridden. A triple-axis accelerometer incorporated into the lock can detect if the bike is being carried away, triggering a 100dB siren to alert bystanders and deter the thief.
