Luxi Adapter Turns iPhone Into Incident Light Meter

Feb-25-13 The Luxi transforms iPhones into incident light meters, making it easier for professional photographers to take accurate readings in inconsistent light.

While reflective light meters measure the amount of light bouncing off a subject, incident light meters measure the light before it reaches the subject. The Luxi clips onto the iPhone and, with the free app, turns the phone into a professional quality light meter. According to the developers, the round diffusion dome of the Luxi can capture light from a 180° angle, which provides more accurate readings than the front-facing camera alone.

The Luxi team has already surpassed their Kickstarter funding goal by almost $30,000.
