Magnet-Based Koala Bottle System

Magnet-Based Koala Bottle System
Feb-02-13
The Koala Bottle system uses magnets to secure a water bottle to a bike frame, making it easier to remove and replace the bottle while riding.

Developed by Anthony Goldman, the Koala system is made up of a bike-mounted poly-carbonate cradle with two curved magnets at the top and a normal water bottle with a metal ring around its neck. The magnetic ring on the cradle is designed so that the bottle can be simply dropped into the cradle and secured by the magnetic force, without the need to slide the bottle in and out of a cage.

The system differs from other magnetic water bottle designs in that no special bottles are required—the rings can be purchased separately and placed on regular Specialized bottles.
