Masimo Neonatal Breathing Sensor

Masimo Neonatal Breathing Sensor
Sep-12-18
The Masimo breathing sensor offers the first acoustic rate respiration monitor suitable for all people, including infants and neonatal patients.

Recently receiving FDA clearance, the Masimo is equipped with a RAS-45 sensor that relies on rainbow Acoustic Monitoring to track respiration rate. The adhesive sensor is applied to the infant’s chest (the neck on older patients), where it can track breathing rates as high as 120 breaths per minute with an accuracy of +/- 1 breath per minute. As well as tracking respiration and offering a continual display of the current rate, the Masimo also allows the doctors to listen to the patient’s breathing with a clarity equal to using a stethoscope.
