MeTro Adhesive Seals Wounds in Seconds

MeTro Adhesive Seals Wounds in Seconds
Oct-05-17
The MeTro surgical glue can be injected directly into a wound to seal it within seconds.

According to the study’s lead author, Nasim Annabi, the unique formulation of the MeTro allows it to be applied to the wound like a liquid, where it will solidify into a gel to conform to the wound’s shape. The adhesive can then be hardened using ultraviolet light on site, and can also be modified to dissolve after a specific time.

Additionally, wounds treated with MeTro can heal more rapidly than those sealed with stitches or staples, and the adhesive can be used on both internal and external wounds.
