Mist Tree Skyscraper Harvests Fog

Mist Tree Skyscraper Harvests Fog
Mar-15-13
The Mist Tree skyscraper concept is designed to harvest water from ocean fog to provide water to desert dwellers in Chile.

An honorable mention winner in the eVolo Skyscraper competition, the Mist Tree is intended for use in Atacama, Chile, where it would penetrate through the Andes Mountain range to capture the fog from the Pacific Ocean. A “net-structure” façade would attract condensation to the building, with the condensation being promoted by heating the building’s interior with sunlight through its large glass walls. The moisture captured by the net would then be channeled to the surrounding area to provide water for inhabitants and plants.
