Molekule Air Filter Destroys Tiny Pollutants

May-30-16 The innovative Molekule air filter is able to filter pollutants and destroy them on a molecular level—significantly outperforming standard HEPA filters.

Developed by the company of the same name, the Molekule system relies on a technology called Photo Electrochemical Oxidation (PECO), which involves shining a light on an electrochemical cell to generate a chemical reaction. The resulting reaction breaks down and destroys the pollutants, enabling the Molekule to eliminate pollutants up to 1000 times smaller than standard filters are able to capture.
