Morph Adjustable Airplane Seat Concept

Morph Adjustable Airplane Seat Concept
Nov-18-13
The Morph airplane seat concept could make flying a bit more comfortable by allowing the passengers to adjust the seat to suit their individual needs.

Designed by the British firm Seymourpowell, the Morph seating concept is built around a bench-like design. Each ‘bench’ is covered with an elastic fabric held in place by the adjustable armrests. In its standard setting, each row of seats would provide 18 inches of seating room for each person. However, the armrests can be shifted to change the seating allowance, such as when parents are traveling with a child who does not need as much room.

Additional features include a fixed seat-back, with the reclining position controlled instead by mechanized seat formers under the seat, and armrests that can be widened to provide extra space.
