A prototype OLED screen worn on the thumbnail lets users operate their small touchscreen devices without blocking their view.
Developed by A team at the National Taiwan University in Taipei, the thimble-sized device syncs to the smartphone and displays the relevant information on its 96 x 64 OLED screen. It may show the letter being typed, helping to eliminate mis-types, or as a screen for screenless devices such as an iPod shuffle. The team is also investigating ways to incorporate an accelerometer to allow the device to display content according to the motions of the fingers.
