Nano-Swarms Could Offer Targeted Drug Delivery

Sep-04-18 A new way to control nanoparticle swarms could allow the tiny bots to one day carry medicines to targeted areas of the body.

The technique, from a team at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, relies on paramagnetic nanoparticles that can be influenced by an oscillating magnetic field. By changing the properties of the oscillations, the nanoparticles can be triggered to move as a group and through obstacles in different shapes, much like a flock of birds or school of fish.
