Nanodrone Detects Toxins Indoors

Nanodrone Detects Toxins Indoors
Jul-23-19
The SNAV nanodrone detects toxic gases to help search and rescue teams avoid dangerous and volatile environments.

Developed by a team from the University of Barcelona, the SNAV (Smelling Nano Aerial Vehicle) is equipped with MOX (metal oxide) gas sensors able to detect even tiny traces of dangerous gases. The drone can locate the source of the gas by tracking concentration, and is small enough to travel through tight areas where a human could not go. Navigation is accomplished via a set of pre-installed radio transmitters, which overcome the difficulty of using GPS indoors.
