Nanowire Brush Captures Cancer Biomarkers in Urine

Nanowire Brush Captures Cancer Biomarkers in Urine
Jan-04-18
An innovative nanowire brush could lead to a urine test for cancer.

Developed by a team at the Nagoya University, the nanowire-based device captures and collects extracellular vesicles (EVs), bits of cells that can harbor biomarkers for cancer. The system’s zinc oxide nanowires can trap a large number of EVs—which has not been possible before—enough to be analyzed for signs of disease, including cancer.

Hello,
Congratulations on the innovative process. Is it commercialized or still in R&D stage.
Sincerely,
