The battery-powered Nerivio is worn on the upper arm, where its pair of electrodes makes contact with the skin to deliver electrical pulses. These pulses travel through the nerves and up to the brain stem, where they trigger the activation of pain-killing neurotransmitters. The Nerivio can be controlled wirelessly via a paired smartphone, allowing the user to adjust the intensity of the pulses.
