The Nightwatch Bracelet helps save lives by notifying caregivers in the case of an epileptic seizure.
Developed by a consortium of researchers from the Netherlands, the Nightwatch Bracelet is designed to be worn on the forearm, where it will detect the two main signs of a severe seizure: an abnormally fast heartbeat along with rhythmic, jolting movements. If a seizure is detected, the bracelet will send a wireless alert to caregivers. In tests, the Nightwatch Bracelet was able to successfully identify severe seizures with an 85 percent accuracy, compared to the 21 percent offered by current devices.
