Nike’s Hyperadapt 1.0 Self-Tying Shoes

Nike’s Hyperadapt 1.0 Self-Tying Shoes
Mar-19-16
Nike’s Hyperadapt 1.0 shoes step into the future as the first mass produced shoes that will “tie” themselves.

The Hyperadapt 1.0 shoes are equipped with sensors at the heel able to detect when the shoe has been put on and trigger the “adaptive lacing.” The laces will then tighten into place, and can be adjusted via a pair of buttons on the side of the shoes. According to an individual who tested the shoes, the Hyperadapt 1.0 tightened quickly and comfortably, with a rather cool sound.

Nike also made a limited edition “self lacing” shoe inspired by the move “Back to the Furture, Part II, called the Nike Mag. That shoe will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
