Nuguna Neckband Vibrates to Alert to Sound

Nuguna Neckband Vibrates to Alert to Sound
Mar-03-17
Developed for people with impaired hearing, the Nuguna Neckband vibrates to alert the wearer to sound.

Created by the startup UFirst, the slender, neck worn Nuguna will detect sound and analyze the direction from which it came, then vibrate to alert the wearer. According to the team, the device could help people who don’t want to wear a hearing aid become more attuned to the sounds around them, prompting them to turn to face a conversation or a smartphone alert. In addition, the Nuguna could serve to warn deaf wearers of dangers, such as oncoming traffic.
