Nymi Wristband Unlocks Devices in a Heartbeat

Nymi Wristband Unlocks Devices in a Heartbeat
Jan-04-15
The Nymi wristband uses the electrical activity of the wearer's heart to access password-protected devices—offering a new option in password security.

Developed by the startup Bionym, the Nymi is embedded with an ECG sensor that will recognize the wearer's heart rhythm—as unique as a fingerprint—in order to unlock password-protected devices and functions. The wristband can eventually be used to replace the password for a myriad of devices, and it is this wide-range compatibility that has developers excited.

According to Nick Sturiale, Managing Partner of Ignition Partners: “With the breadth and depth of third party application developer commitments, it’s clear there is tangible excitement at the numerous use cases presented by extending identity and presence from the smart phone onto the wrist.”
