ORP Smart Horn Lets Cyclists Be Heard

ORP Smart Horn Lets Cyclists Be Heard
Dec-21-12
The ORP Smart Horn combines a bike light and dual-tone horn into one device, lighting the way while also giving cyclists a way to alert inattentive drivers.

Currently in the prototype stage, the ORP features both a lower-decibel “hello horn” and a louder, 96-decibel “watch out” alarm. The horn’s volume is controlled by an integrated actuator, with a light touch sounding the lower alarm and a stronger push sounding the latter. The LED lights on the front of the horn are designed to be constantly on, and will flash in strobe mode when the horn is sounded.

The ORP is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

It looks like you can't brake and honk at the same time - might actually cause accidents. I much prefer this horn but it seems to be coming out a lot later
