PaperTab Tablet is a New Generation of Tablet Computers

PaperTab Tablet is a New Generation of Tablet Computers

The PaperTab E-ink readers are designed to be used together yet individually, with each PaperTab functioning as a separate display able to interact with the others.

Developed by Plastic Logic, the PaperTab features a shatterproof 10.7 inch high resolution E-ink touchscreen display that looks and feels like a sheet of paper. The real step forward, however, is the PaperTab’s ability for each device to function as window for separate applications while still interacting as a team, replacing a computer monitor or conventional paper printouts. The PaperTab keeps track of its relative location to the other PaperTab with an electromagnetic tracker, which allows it to create a larger display when two units are placed next to one another or attach an image to an email when two devices are touched to one another.

Although the commercial version is still in the far-off future, the paper-thin, flexible OLED technology will be certainly be influencing the next generation of tablet computers.

ok i understand the concept and love the idea. but since you have made it that flat it has no backing and can cause an issue's of creasing or breaking the visulas in the screen from excesive bending. my suggestion would be to make a folder/ stand that encase's it and is no thicker then three paper tablets together or less even, is also flexible but when needed/ wanted it can lock into place. allowing a standing firm screen lik a normal tablet or even a table top/touch/mini desktop computer that is able to be packed up in ten second and ready to travel with you. In the case you can have three back up batteries for long lasting life...should also eliminate the need for the powercord in the photo. you can also layer the paper tablet in this case for inhanced 3-D images, or even make the screen bigger by folding the other screen's out into a multi-part screen. e-mail me. i have lots of ideas that are rather innovative. aswell as some inventions of my own you could help me with.
