The innovative Path Finder laser-equipped shoe will help prevent the ‘gait freeze’ common in people suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
The Path Finder device attaches to a standard pair of shoes, where it helps combat gait freeze by projecting a visual target onto the floor that the wearer can then use as a focal point to ‘step over.’ This focus triggers the circuits in the brain that interrupts the freeze and allows the user to continue walking.
