Personalized UV Sensors

Personalized UV Sensors
Oct-04-18
Personalized, paper-based wearable UV sensors offer an effective and affordable way to track sun exposure.

The wrist-worn sensors were developed by Vipul Bansal at RMIT specially to address the varying UV tolerances of different skin tones. Each wristband features four emoticons printed in ink that will become visible in time under UV light. Ranging from happy to sad, the emoticons indicate how much UV the wearer has received (25 percent to 100 percent), with the indicators tuned to the individual’s need.
