Pixium Vision Bionic Eye System

Pixium Vision Bionic Eye System
Jul-27-19
The Pixium Vision bionic eye system can restore a level of sight to people who are visually impaired.

The Pixium Vision technology relies on a pair of glasses with an embedded camera that transmits image signals to a microchip implanted in the retina. Those signals are then translated into electrical signals for the brain, resulting in an image perceived as 378 pixels total. Although that is quite a low resolution compared to natural sight, the Pixium Vision has allowed most of the test individuals—who had no central vision—to be able to read printed letters.
