Pod Skyscraper Prints Housing on Demand

Pod Skyscraper Prints Housing on Demand
Apr-17-17
An innovative ‘vending machine’ Pod Skyscraper concept would tackle the housing crisis by dispensing 3D-printed homes.

Designed by Haseef Refiei and awarded an honorable mention at the eVolo Skyscraper Competition, the Pod Skyscraper was inspired by Tokyo’s robotics, minimal living culture, and vending machines. The homeowner’s new pod would be 3D-printed on-site and embedded into the main structure, while damaged or unused pods would be disassembled or placed in storage. Users could also determine what types of pods they wanted, and attach multiple pods together to form the desired space.

This could be a perfect pioneer for new rescue systems. Motorized parachutes and independent drones would evacuate during fire and other disasters. Also fire fighting units could be convertible.
