A new type of electrode from researchers at Drexel University could pave the way to batteries that charge in only seconds.
The technology relies on the highly conductive 2D material MXene, which can charge in tens of milliseconds while storing much more energy than standard supercapacitors. In addition, the new electrode material is made up of many small pores, which creates a sort of “high-speed highway” for the ions and allows for rapid charging.
