The Portable House backpack was created by a pair of students to help ease some of the burdens of homelessness.
The innovative portable shelter was developed by Macdonald High School students Pasha Jones and Adrianna Vutrano for their school science fair. Constructed from materials found at local hardware stores, the Portable House can be worn like a backpack and then extended to form a shelter large enough to house a person. A space blanket lining helps insulate the tent, which can be flipped over to keep the interior cool or warm, depending on the season.
