Potato Plastic Biodegrades Naturally

Potato Plastic Biodegrades Naturally
Sep-30-18
The eco-friendly Potato Plastic material biodegrades after use, offering an alternative to petroleum-based products.

Developed by Pontus Törnq from Lund University, the Potato Plastic material is made up of potato starch and water that have been precisely measured and mixed, then heated to form a thick fluid. That fluid is then poured into a mold and heated to form a thermoplastic that can be shaped into a variety of forms, including spoons, straws and salt bags.

The Potato Plastic material recently received a James Dyson award.

I think this is an environmentally friendly project and I have a great interest. Is there any way I could get some samples and more detail information with regards to production and cost. Also is it possible to have this manufacture in Mainland China if it is more cost effective then petroleum base plastic?
