Powering Flight with Stratospheric Air-Friction

Powering Flight with Stratospheric Air-Friction
Mar-07-20
The Eather One aircraft has triboelectric nanogenerators on its wings and top that harness external mechanical energy and convert it into electrical energy.

Designer Michal Bonikowski believes the turbulence of driving through the atmosphere generates friction and vibrations which nanogenerators could capture and convert into energy that the plane can store in its batteries and use in flight.

The ultimate in carbon efficiency, Eather One would harness clean, renewable energy as it travels.
