Prevent Mouthguard Detects Concussions

Jan-12-18 Prevent’s smart mouthguard protects more than the player’s teeth, detecting a possible concussion and triggering an alert.

Developed by Prevent Biometrics, the Head Impact Monitor System (HIMS) is equipped with four 3-channel accelerometers able to measure the force of an impact in real time and send an alert to a paired device in real time. The mouthguard will also track the number of impacts sustained by the player, recording details such as force, rotation and location.
