A new kind of ink-jet printable, graphene inks could help make flexible, biomedical devices more accessible and more affordable.

Developed by an international team at the research initiative Graphene Flagship, the inks are water-based, and contain conductive graphene along with other materials. The inks can be applied to a variety of surfaces, both flexible and rigid, and can be printed with off-the-shelf printers. Currently, the inks have been used to create photodetectors as well as the first ever ink-jet printable read-only memory.
