QMedic Bracelet Keeps Tabs on Seniors

QMedic Bracelet Keeps Tabs on Seniors
Oct-05-13
Designed to help caregivers keep tabs on seniors living alone, the QMedic system is being touted as the first passive wearable sensing technology able to detect emergencies in the home and monitor the user's activity levels.

The QMedic features a waterproof bracelet embedded with sensors that monitor activity and sleeping habits, allowing designated individuals to receive weekly updates on the user’s sleep quality, activity levels and time spent outside the home. Caregivers and family can also download the QMedic app to check on the daily status of the user, such as whether they got out of bed, returned home from the store or are wearing the bracelet. The device also features a large button on the top, which allows it to be operated manually by the wearer in case of emergency.
