QR-Tagged Jeans are Aimed at Men Who Hate Shopping

QR-Tagged Jeans are Aimed at Men Who Hate Shopping
Dec-30-12
A Seattle store is trying a new tactic to encourage men to shop by using QR coded jeans and automated dressing rooms.

The store, named Hointer, contains 150 styles of jeans, but only one pair of jeans in each style are actually on display. The jeans are hung on racks so customers can check the brands and styling, and are each tagged with a QR code. When the customer scans the code with the store’s app, they are directed to a dressing room where a pair of jeans in their size is delivered via a small chute. After trying on the jeans, the customer can either send them back into the system or buy them right there in the dressing room by swiping their credit card in the in-room machine.
