Get ready for winter nights with the Quicksplit, a simple device that makes splitting kindling easy and axe-free.
Developed by Canadian blacksmith Martin Reinhard, the Quicksplit mounts to a wall or other sturdy surface, where it uses the torque created by its long handle to split small slabs of wood into pieces suitable for kindling. The device can be mounted permanently using screws, or can be attached temporarily to a tree with ratcheting straps.
